Standing for Democracy - Washington State

Policies of the Trump administration will negatively impact every community, especially people of color and poor people. These conditions demand that we organize across racial and gender lines, across issues and communities in order to save our safety net and hard fought gains of the working class. This is why we have formed Standing for Democracy, a new alliance of organizations and individuals. Join us to hear more about our work and how we can build to defend our democracy and services.

The workshop will provide a brief analysis of the outcome of the 2024 Presidential election and the balance of forces, an overview of Project 2025 and the work of Standing for Democracy nationally and locally. Then we are inviting 3-4 clusters of groups focused on immigrant rights, labor, LGBTQI2SA rights, and women's rights/reproductive justice, civil rights to talk about what attacks their communities are facing, their plans for resistance and how people can support their work. We will then spend 1/2 of the time in the workshop to strategize how people and organizations can support these clusters of groups and the work of Standing for Democracy in Washington state.
