Everyday Mindfulness & Self-Compassion: A Workshop from the Center for Child & Family Well-Being
Our work in community, as activists, social justice advocates, care-takers and family members is difficult.
In this interactive workshop presented by UW’s Center for Child and Family Wellbeing, we will practice self-compassion and mindfulness concepts and skills that can help us tune in and care for ourselves. We will focus on brief, practical skills that participants can weave into their day to support their own well-being and relationships, including their work with children and families.
Our work in community, as activists, social justice advocates, care-takers and family members is difficult. Cultivating the skills to care for ourselves, to show ourselves compassion and live out a life of mindfulness is key. This workshop will focus on skills that bring about a sense of awareness in our lives and open the doors to healing to the communities around us.
We will focus on brief, practical skills that families and activists can weave into their day to day, supporting their own well-being, relationships and fight for social justice. The content presented will be from REAL Pro – Resilient Attitudes & Living for Professionals.” REAL Pro conducts (adjustable) 90 min workshops that focus on well-being, mindfulness and self compassion skills.
