Project 2025 and our incoming President have promised challenges and attacks on progress towards racial and social justice. On this Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday 2025 in the only US County named after him, join SAARC (Seattle/ King County African American Reparations Committee) for an interactive workshop on making reparations to Black communities. We’ll be learning and sharing info, tools, and resources to arm everyday people to advocate for repairing the harms done to direct descendants of chattel slavery and anti Black racism. Our current research priority is on housing, education, and health.   • Larry Gossett, Chair of the SAARC is a retired 26-year member of the King County Council.

  • Kevin Allen, a SAARC board member, is an adjudicator for the Washington Department of Social and Health Services and an activist with AFSCME and the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists.

  • Andra Kranzler, JD, a SAARC board member, is Chief of Staff for Seattle City Council Member Tammy Morales and an attorney with expertise in housing law and justice.
